Blood and Sand Elemental World Book Three eBook Elizabeth Hunter
I just finished reading Blood and Sand and I loved it. Elizabeth Hunter is a highly gifted writer who combines technical writing skills with an unerring abililty to create characters and plots that engage and ensnare the reader. The way she is building on the looming menace facing their world, adding layers in each of the books is done with such finesse. She introduces us to characters who play a part in one book, and become the primary protagonist in the next one. While the 1st four books were about the relationship of Beatric and Giovanni, the two since then have smoothly transitioned the supporting roles into that of stars. Baojaii (spelling may not be exactly right) is a wonderful male lead. He has physical strength & beauty, but more importantly has character and a deep sense of loyalty. I cannot recommend this book too highly. I literally read it through this past weekend, nearly draining my Kindle in the process because I was at the beach and forgot my charger. The vampire world this author creates is quite different from any other I have read. I don't want to give the plot away, but it is exciting and I am now yearning for the next book in this series.

Blood and Sand Elemental World Book Three eBook Elizabeth Hunter Reviews
I wish I could say I liked this better. I do refuse to mark it down because I didn't like the heroine since that's just a personal preference. But I found Natalie to be stubborn to the point of stupidity, and am disappointed that Baojia got such a mate. Independence in a woman is great, but making stupid choices without any thought is not independence. It's just stupid, and there are times when her choices seem to be just to spite her mate. I am also tiring of the Elixir story and wondering if we will move on at all. The romantic bickering is a bit over the top as well. Nonetheless, it is fairly good paranormal romance, well written and well edited, whether or not the heroine was someone that I would enjoy knowing, so a four it is.
At times a become confused by the timeline of the Element novels and the spinoff novels Element Would. The crossover of the elixir plot is the problem because they the vampire world is still dealing with the side effects. Bring us reader into a false completion of the first series. Introducing the spinoff characters in which we met in the original series into there own romantic storyline. Little confusing at first but if you hang in there Elizabeth Hunter storytelling falls into place as a jigsaw puzzle.
Book two of 'An Elemental World' Series was better than the first book, an epilogue of the original series. The story is continued with all the blood and decapitations as before but with less of the substance piling it all together. It is like slipping sand, slowly depleting and washing away. The foundation was built in the original series to continue to build on the plots and the relationships. It gives us the characters, but the relationships are just thrown in. There is less development over all. I want what I had before.
I liked our new female lead, a news reporter, even though I felt she was too stupid to be allowed to survive or be a good match for George. I was wishing she would die. Hopefully, the next book will take on the quality thrill of the original series and my attention and desire to read on does not slip away. So far it's only my money slipping away because I have been interested enough to buy more books by this author. It is still a fun read, for now.
It seems, so far, that the first two books in the Elemental World series are both linked to the Elixir plot line. They also have the common thread of characters from the Elemental Mysteries finding their true mate. Both of the females in question are linked to the vampire world.
In this book we are following Baojia, the water vampire sired by Don Ernesto Alvarez, Beatrice's grandfather. Since he was exiled to San Diego, he has led a rather boring lifestyle. Along comes Natalie Ellis and life suddenly gets interesting. There is murder in the desert, plenty of action, unsuspecting romance and Gio and Beatrice make an appearance. Along with Tenzin, Carwyn and his new wife Brigid. This all leads to the Elixir, which is why all our favorite vampires are together again, but the story is still revolving around Baojia and Natalie.
I really like this book, especially since it revolves around the quiet, but deadly Baojia. I was hoping we would get a book about him. As usual, we are lead on solving a mystery and the implications of vampire politics. It's engrossing and fast paced and I hated to see it end. It left me wanting more on Baojia and Natalie, and I wanted to know for sure of her decision. I guess I will have to to imagine she made the one I would have made if it was me. Cryptic, maybe, but you'll have to read it to find out what I'm talking about. For me, this was well written, fast paced, in deep and further enlightening into Elizabeth Hunter's vampire world. How she comes up with these stories is amazing. You kind of want to live in this strange world of hers. This is so very much a must read in this series. Totally worth the time to read and enjoy.
So, we meet up with Boajia again. I gotta tell you I was not looking forward to this Elemental World book. I was not that impressed with Boajia in the Elemental Mysteries series. But Elizabeth Hunter has surprised me again. (I should never doubt her!) This has turned out to be one of my favorite books by her. Boajia, can I just say what a guy! He turned out to be one of my favorite characters of all in her Elemental World. He is my favorite type of guy a gentleman who is also sexy. I just fell in love with him!
We also get to meet a new character, Natalie. She is smart and funny and throws Boajia off balance. This is the best part of the book I think. Their relationship is fun to watch develop and take off. Also, the plot if very interesting and suspenseful. It is fast paced, I never felt like it got bogged down at any point. I also love that the old crew if back for this book. Gio, B, Dez, Matt, Ben, and Tenzin are in this book and are very entertaining. Plus Brigid and Carwyn too! This always makes me happy to see the old gang together again.
