Lie Next To Me A Millionaire Love eBook Sandi Lynn
As a writer and a therapist I was disgusted by this book. There is nothing more destructive to women than presenting an abusive relationship as desirable. I was shocked that the character, Dr.Neill, wouldn't tell the main character to leave the millionaire's reach immediately, no matter what else. Ian Braxton displayed all the signs of domestic abuse -- vocal and emotional. He yells for no reason and controls her. Considering her background, her feelings for him -- at least initially -- make sense. But quickly it's obvious that this is a sick relationship.SPOILER: The fact that one single comment suddenly turns a person with severe mental issues into the perfect love mate is beyond wish-fulfillment. It is ridiculous and an unbelievable crock.
I'm not about to even consider getting Part II.

Lie Next To Me A Millionaire Love eBook Sandi Lynn Reviews
Lie Next to Me struggled to present a billionaire who doesn't know how to fall in love vs. a woman who fell for such an alpha guy. But the scenario doesn't make sense for a variety of reasons.
Aurora "Rory" Sinclair was rescued by Ian Braxton when she was brutally attacked... by her own schizophrenic brother. Ian took her back to his place and helped her recover. But Ian has his own problems. His father is a misogynist and hates all woman, esp. his mother... who basically left. Ian has friends... and friends with benefits. Rory fell for the enigmatic but rich Ian, who wants Rory... but only as a bareback (no condom) sex partner. And the sex is good... even as Ian helped commit her brother to a treatment center. But when Rory confessed her feelings to Ian, Ian replied he has no feelings for anyone...
Frankly, Rory feels like someone who doesn't know how to be in love either and basically fell for the first man who can take care of her, even though she had to pay a price in terms of psychological problems bordering on abuse. Ian seems to be so... "heartless". If this is supposed to be presenting a billionaire who hides a heart under that exterior, it failed pretty miserably. Instead, Ian just came across as someone who rescued a woman just to bonk her becasue she's grateful. And that's... revolting.
I Liked Rory's character and Ian's most of the time though he does have way too many jerk moments that I wished Rory would just leave him ( or use one of her boxing moves and kick him where it hurts... ). They both have issues of abandonment that they have to deal with ( and I assume for other reviews I read, that for many people the way they deal with those are not acceptable ).
I wonder why there was a suggestion of BSDM but was never developed in the storyline beyond Ian's dominant attitudes. I do love alpha males so I think that would have spiced-up the story a lot.. Anyway, there is good chemistry between the characters, and some very sexy scenes.
Though it does not end with a cliffhanger ( I suppose it may be considered a “happy for now” ending ), this is not a stand-alone book, the story of these two continues in book 2 ( When I Lie with you )
As a cons at some point it turns out a quite repetitive..They argue over the same stupid issues and reconcile almost immediately so many times that it makes no sense to the storyline. There were so many possibilities of more interesting conflicts that this!
Anyway... I liked the overall plot idea; it has great potential and I mostly enjoyed it. I will definitely read the second book and I hope the scenarios I imagined will be developed then.
I am mad at myself for reading this book to the end. I honestly wanted to jump into the pages and kill Ian. He was a horrible "hero" and he did not deserve a happy ending in this book.
I understand Alpha male characters but Ian was not that. There was nothing sexy about him belittling where she comes from and what she has been through. Nothing sexy about demanding obedience from her but expecting her to let him rome free daily. Nothing sexy about demanding she lay all her secrets and fears down but you can't open one of yours.
He was not an Alpha Male and this book isn't about an Alpha male. Its about a real prick of a guy who has no respect for women.
This book was so awful that I couldn't even finish it. It feels like it was written by a 14 year old, minus the sex and curses. Rory is so stupid. She acts all proud and gets a job at a cafe but has no problem accepting a makeover and expensive clothes. She gets mad at him but hello, he saved your life and doesn't owe you anything! Ian has no depth. I think the author was trying to portray him as a conflicted soul who is really a good guy but he came off as really dumb. The dialogues made me cringe. I cannot believe I paid for this book.
